“ This is a hidden gem that has been around for many years. I adore this spot for its pastrami sandwiches and straightforward delicious pizza. I love the saltiness of the pastrami and the crispiness of the pizza. The place itself is very unassuming, you order at the counter and then they bring you your food. There is limited seating inside but plenty of tables outside in the shopping center. Many of them are out in the elements, so I would recommend going while it's nice out or just taking your pizza home if it's rainy or too windy. ”
“ I've heard lots of hype about little deli and pizzeria so I was so excited to try them out! I was a little worried that we wouldn't be able to get an inside table, since the interior is on the smaller side and it was so cold outside. So we decided to go at 6pm in hopes we could get seating. The parking lot has lots of space. And it seems like this is usually more of a pickup your food and leave type of restaurant as we were easily able to get a table. And the other tables remained relatively empty over the course of our meal. The workers are decently friendly and the food was really good! The sandwiches seem packed full with lots of veggies and meat. The pizzas all smelled delicious and are pretty decently priced. And I love that they have a slice of the day. The potato salad was pretty good too, but also not that special. And the cookies were delicious and moist. I got the fresh spinach and mushroom calzone and it was sooo good! First off, it was bigger than I expected, but for $12 it fits the size lol. The dough itself was really good and the perfect amount of chewiness. And the cheese filling along with the spinach and mushroom was delicious. I was afraid they would skimp on the cheese but that wasn't the case at all. It comes with marinara sauce too, but it's already so good without it. ”
“ A friend said the Pastrami and Pizza was great, so I gave it a try with some friends. Now let me state I am not A Rye bread lover, I tend to like my Pastrami custom build and they only had sliced bread. In fact even those I told them the order twice, and the guy read it back to me and I said that's it, when they dropped off all 4 items to us mine was with Rye bread.. Nope not even going to try it. So I said take it back and correct it please. More or less it was the person making the stuff in back and I had to wait about 10 mins and every one was pretty much done eating :( Anyways not sure if they reheated it or made a new sammy for me, but it was OK, s my search goes on. I had a bite of the pizza and it was pretty good, being most of it I have had here sadly doesn't cut it. Everyone around us seemed to be enjoying the food and at this location it pretty area inside inside, so they have tables outside. I liked the area, had a real good energy to it like a nice family area. Enjoy ”
“ Went here for the first time recently, also not sure why it took me so long but this was DELICIOUS! I got their slice of the day but they also had a lot of other selections to choose from. The light salty crust mixed with the melted cheese on a good size slice was just what I needed. Everyone was very nice and helpful too! You order at the counter and they have 2-3 tables inside so smaller but plenty of outside seating! Plus they have a big parking lot they share with surrounding business with plenty of spaces which is always a win! ”
“ This is my favorite pizza spot in Austin. Hands down. I always order a slice of whatever is their Pizza of the Day. The portion size is huge, and the pizza is not overly greasy or cheesy. Their pastrami sandwich is also delicious and loaded with pastrami and other toppings. The restaurant itself is super small in regards to indoor seating, but the location has a lot of picnic tables outside and even a gazebo where people can sit and eat. It's actually quite cute. A new Austin favorite of mine! ”
“ Nestled in the popular Crestview neighborhood area, Little Deli has long been serving up some of the best sandwiches and pizza in the city! A small, casual spot directly across from a wine shop and grocer, there is ample outdoor seating or you can take your food to go. Order at the counter and find a seat and they'll bring your food out as soon as it's ready. We've tried their sandwiches before but came back specifically to try the pizza, and we weren't disappointed. A bit steeper in price, their pizza is NY-style and is served up in various pie sizes or cheese or pepperoni and a daily special by the slice. You can build your own toppings or select one of their speciality pizzas (note: they didn't let us do half and half). They have desserts and drinks as well as sides for your sandwiches, along with soups and salads. Overall, we enjoy visiting when we want a really good sub or pizza and feel like splurging a little, or the weather is super nice out! QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Yes, there is ample parking space in the lots. - Indoor seating? No, not really. Very small and mostly outdoor seating! FOOD RATINGS: - Meatball, pesto, ricotta pizza (4/5): Perfect dough and I love how they spread the sauce and toppings all the way up for a thin crust. Meatballs are good and pesto is oily. Ricotta could be seasoned some, but overall great combo of toppings! - Mushroom and sausage pizza (5/5): Classic and yummy. The sauce is great and they are generous with the toppings. ”
“ Really enjoyed the trip out to Little deli and pizzeria. It was the same location as the one in Mueller. It's a little further out but it has a different dining experience. They have an outdoor seating for everyone visiting. The food is tremendous and worth coming out and having a bite. Once you've arrived, make sure to grab a seat and go inside to make your order. There is no inside seating. It's a very friendly atmosphere, and again I had to order the carrot cake. It is incredible. I may have to order the whole cake next time! ”
“ The old-Austin ambience was radiating off of this spot as I drove into the parking lot in the midst of a pretty, quiet little neighborhood. Walking through the ample patio/ outdoor seating area had me smiling. Indoors, a small front counter & busting kitchen greets you. The service was warm & friendly, and my questions quickly answered. I took the nice gent's advice to go for a pastrami sandwich for my first option- and even then, I had decisions to make! I settled on the Harry's Perfect Pastrami sandwich-- no disappointment here! Tasty Pastrami piled on rye with fresh creamy coleslaw & thousand island made for a fantastic marriage! I paired a half sandwich with a slice of the day (pepperoni, garlic and tomatoes) & a soup of the day (broccoli & cheese), and man oh MAN - that was a triple-hitter that left me full to the gills & very VERY happy with this exploratory choice! I will definitely be back to try more of their substantial home-cookin' menu. Excellent job, Little Deli - keep up the gold-star experience! ”
“ Ha, my last review of Little Deli (the original location on Woodrow in North Central Austin's Crestview neighborhood) was more than 15 years ago! I gave them 5 stars then, and the rating still holds. This town has changed a lot in those years, but Little Deli is still making fantastic pizzas & sandwiches, serving a bustling crowd, and taking no B.S. These days, there's another little wineshop & eatery across the parking lot and the Minimax has become a Fresh Plus grocery. The little beauty shop next door is still giving silver-haired ladies their weekly shampoo & set, and the neighborhood families are still bringing in their cute kids to play outside while they enjoy a picnic on the patio. On a pretty spring afternoon, sitting out under the oaks, there is no better people-watching as you wait for your tasty lunch to be served. We expected the crowds, so we called ahead to order, then timed our arrival accordingly. The guy taking our phone order was so knowledgeable and efficient, impressive given the fast pace of service in that establishment on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered from home at 1:13p and were eating in the gazebo out front by 1:54p. As others have mentioned, you must give your credit card info over the phone for pre-orders, which can be a bit disconcerting in this day & age. They ask for your CC security code (rather than your Zip code), something that shouldn't be necessary if they are using a modern point-of-sale system; obviously, they aren't, and I wouldn't normally oblige, but I trust Little Deli to protect my info. Don't let me down now, Little Deli! Is the vegetarian sandwich on poppy seed Kaiser roll as good as ever? Yes, it is, but don't make my mistake and forget to ask that it be toasted. That *really* takes it up a notch. Forget about sandwiches though, and move on to that pizza. We have a white pie lover in our family, and he has declared the Little Deli version to be the king of white pies in Austin. We also had a make-your-own regular pizza with standard red sauce, pepperoni, and meatballs. Good lord! Such crispy, yeasty, chewy crust! We order mediums, which are sized like Domino's large pizzas, and now we have amazing leftovers for tomorrow. Yeah, heat it up in the convection oven or on the stovetop in an iron skillet, and it will be as good as it was the day before. Don't forget, you can stock up on beer and what have you at the grocery store across the way, then chillax on the tables out front with your meal. For inside dining, there are just 3-4 tables inside, plus a couple of 2-tops in the "To-Go Order" pickup area in back. ”
